Calculating how much your loved ones will receive is easy. Simply multiply the amount you want to send by the Philippine peso exchange rate.

For example:

You want to send AUD$100 to Metro Manila (Fee = AUD$10.00)
What you want to send = AUD$100.00
Philippine Peso exchange rate = P38.90

The peso amount to be received in the Philippines:

= (What you want to send in Australian dollars) multiplied by (Exchange rate)
= AUD$100 * P38.90
= P3,890

(AUD means Australian dollar: P means Philippine peso)

How do I calculate what I want to send from Philippine pesos to Australian dollars?

When you need to send or transfer a particular amount of money in Philippine peso, it’s easy to calculate the Australian dollar equivalent. Just divide the peso amount you want to send or transfer by the exchange rate.

For example:

You need to send P10,000 (ten thousand pesos) to Metro Manila (Fee AUD$10.00).
What you want to send = P10,000.00
Philippine Peso exchange rate = P38.90

The dollar amount equivalent to P10,000:

= (The peso amount you want them to receive) divided by (Peso exchange rate)
= P10,000 divided by P38.90
= AUD$257.10

(AUD means Australian dollar: P means Philippine peso)

What this means is whether you transact one hundred dollars or five thousand dollars the fee remains the same.

For a complete list of all delivery areas and fees, please go to our home page at www.mmbbservices.com and click the “Delivery Methods” tab, then choose "Delivery Areas". Simply choose the Philippine province from the first list, then choose the suburb (within your chosen province) in the second list to find out the delivery fee.

Are there any pitfalls if I choose to have my money deposited in a Philippine bank account?

Indeed, you need to be aware of two important issues in regards to online bank transfers. Firstly, the clearance and availability of your money after the deposit may take several days before your family can withdraw it. This may cause some frustration for your recipient if they need the money in a hurry.

Also, each Philippine bank charges a set amount for deposits. This charge will vary depending on which bank you choose and how much money is deposited. Generally, this bank fee is between P150 (AUD$3.40) to P600 (AUD$14.50), which they deduct from your deposit.

For more information on online bank transfers, please refer to the user agreement under section “Bank Transfers” and “Direct Deposits”

Are there other MMBB fees and charges that I need to know about?

We will only charge a flat rate delivery fee for every transaction. Regardless of the amount of money you send or transfer, the fee remains the same for that particular delivery area. You will have the opportunity to verify all payment details including the Philippine Peso exchange rate, delivery fee and your total peso equivalent, prior to final authorization.

Although we make every reasonable effort to deduct all known fees and charges associated with our service, we cannot guarantee other charges from banking institutions should you choose a bank transfer.

For more information on fees and charges, please refer to the user agreement under section “User Fees and Charges”, “Bank Transfers” and “Direct Deposits”.

What I love most about Filipinos ... Devotion to family

I love the Filipino spirit. Growing up in Australia, I kind of lost the culture and psyche of my heritage. I recently went back home and genuinely fell in love with my people all over again.

We are a proud, courageous and resilient people. But what I love most about Filipinos is our devotion and commitment to our loved ones. Many Filipinos leave their beloved homeland and their families in search of employment overseas, just so they can financially support their loved ones. For the majority, this is a supreme sacrifice. Not only are they isolated from their families and friends, and faced with cultural differences … some endure harsh working conditions, ridicule, degradation, racism … some even death. What is even more admirable is that this sacrifice is all for the sake of their families.

Often Filipinos working or living overseas have to learn a new language, fit into a different culture, get acquainted geographically in their new surroundings, and face many other challenges. They also have to take care of their own needs, such as housing, groceries, paying bills and the like. Yet, with all this, they always manage to save enough to send home … Taking care of everyone, from their youngest child to their old grandmother. That, to me, shows courage and devotion. It is admirable and commendable. That’s the Filipino spirit!

Sending or transfering money to the Philippines to support loved ones is at the heart of what we do. MMBB Service has been helping Filipino families and friends in supporting their loved ones since 1991 by providing an easy to follow online money transfer system. We understand the human cost and sacrifice that our customers go through in order to ensure the well-being their families. This money symbolizes their blood, sweat and tears. Our customers are not merely sending money to the Philippines … they are embracing their loved ones across the seas to express love and devotion.
